Arrabica Highland Coffee from Guatemala

Welcome to Kape Nakoj - the coffee of the villages

The process of developing the coffee plant begins

Kape Nakoj Arabica coffee is grown by more than 1000 smallholder families in the highlands of Guatemala (over 1,800m altitude) and then harvested with a content of over 20 degrees Brix. By providing specially developed harvesting equipment, the farmers are able to produce the entire product process from the coffee cherry to the ready-to-roast product and are therefore able to offer a high-quality product that is almost ready for the market. Kape Nakoj arrabica coffee beans are among the best in the region and they have been categorized as particularly differentiated coffees and exceptional coffees.

Training for coffee producers in the Santo Domingo Xenacoj region

The astonishing success of Kape Nakoj is based on the constant training, promotion and mentoring of small farmers who only have small acreage (nanolots and microlots). This support gives the farmers the opportunity to offer the entire process for high-quality and sustainable Arabica coffee - and at the same time to generate a secure livelihood for their families.

Drying systems available to coffee growers in the region

It usually takes 3 whole years from the first plant to the first harvest, with constant care, pruning and long-term fertilization of the tender plants. The basis for product quality can only be created with a shared passion, connection to your own cultivation areas and a lot of experience. Our processes are based on continuous quality and product control in order to constantly accompany our farmers in the highlands of Guatemala in their success and all processes, as well as wet and dry processing with precise traceability after the harvest, on the path to sustainable quality.

In addition to our small farmers, with an average of 1,000sqm of acreage, we currently also have 15 other plots distributed in different regions of the Kaqchikel Route in Guatemala, with unique climates and altitudes, to grow quality highland coffee. In addition to the altitude, the temperature, humidity and amount of rain are decisive quality factors.
